BSB Manila champions in the “Juicy Legends TOURnament”

Manila Republic posted December 2019

ARC Refreshments Corporation crowned BSB as the winning team for the December leg of Juicy Legends TOURnament.

This month’s season of the “Juicy Legends TOURnament” ended with a bang as BSB conquers the teams Sinag Pilipinas and K10 Gaming in a championship match held at the Fiesta Market of Tutuban Centermall in Manila.

ARC Refreshments Corp.’s Juicy Lemon brand keeps up with its commitment to rally gamers to fight in the popular Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. This leg of the tournament has been staged nationwide in key cities such as Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao.

The month-long “Juicy Legends TOURnament,” staged by ULVL Gaming and sponsored by ARC Refreshments Corp.’s Juicy Lemon brand, served as a battleground for amateur e-Sports athletes of the popular Mobile Legends: Bang Bang to fight for the coveted trophy and Php100,000 cash prize in the Championship round.

Sinag Pilipinas from Pasig City brought home Php30,000 after landing on 3rd Place against K10 Gaming of Quezon City. Despite falling short in the semi-finals round, the team still thinks that the tournament successfully gave them a platform to showcase their skills.
“Nagpapasalamat kami sa Juicy Legends kasi sobrang alaga rin nila sa mga players” (We’re thankful for Juicy Legends because they really take good care of us players)” said Gerard Ford Guhilde Geronimo of the Sinag Pilipinas team.

K10 Gaming, on the other hand, still stands tall even after landing on 2nd Place in a final match with the winning team, BSB. The team brought home Php50,000 and still, Kent Ervan John Unigo of K10 Gaming thinks their passion for e-Sports is what matters more despite some people talking ill about what they love to do.

Unigo expressed his kudos to the organizers for making Juicy Legends inclusive for amateur players: “Mas maganda po ‘yung fino-focus nila sa amateurs para mas marami pa po ‘yung maglaro, mas makilala pa po ‘yung ML sa Philippines, mas lumalaki ang community” (It’s good that amateur gamers are getting a lot more focus so that ML can be recognized even more in the Philippines and that the community will continue to grow).

Meanwhile, BSB hailed as the Champion with a take-home prize of Php100,000, making their home city proud. Juan Benoza of the BSB team expressed his happiness while leaving an important reminder to his fellow gamers.

“Sa mga aspiring [e-Sports athletes] na kagaya namin na nangangarap maglaro someday sa SEA Games at Pro Scene, maglaro lang kayo nang maglaro pero kailangan ‘yung health niyo ‘wag masyadong pabayaan. Kasi ‘pag pinabayaan niyo health niyo, para na rin kayong nawala sa pangarap niyong maglaro sa Pro Scene” (To those who aspire to play in the SEA Games and Pro Scene someday like us, keep playing but never lose track of your health or your dream of playing in the Pro Scene might only become impossible).

Hosts Rodfil — from the popular comic duo Moymoy Palaboy and founder of ULVL Gaming — Prof B, and Rob Luna hyped up the event as fans and avid gamers witnessed the battles among teams. As a gamer himself, Rodfil takes pride in the success of their tournaments over the past months.

“I think recognized na sa e-Sports community na ang Juicy Legends ay isang major tournament na rin for Mobile Legends. Hindi kami titigil to improve pa lalo” (I think Juicy Legends has been recognized in the e-Sports community already as a major tournament for Mobile Legends and we won’t stop improving every tournament), said Rodfill.

The founder also mentioned that to be successful in e-Sports and become a part of major competitions such as the SEA Games, a team must have a combination of serious cooperation, communication, and discipline.

Advocacy for sports development and the values associated with it pushed ARC Refreshments Corp., the company behind “RC Cola Liga ng Bayan” 3×3 Basketball Tournament, to support ULVL’s “Juicy Legends TOURnament.”

Clark Lee, the brand manager behind ARC Refreshments Corp.’s Juicy Lemon, takes pride in the brand’s advocacy in support of the e-Sports Mobile Legends’ growing community. “We wanted to cater to amateur players and for players who don’t have exposure. This is the platform for them because we wanted Filipino e-Sports athletes to have a successful career in e-Sports,“ said Lee.

Juicy Lemon is the refreshing, low-calorie, lemon-flavored soft drink of ARC Refreshments Corp., the manufacturer of other well-loved beverages namely RC Cola, Seetrus, Fruity Soda Orange, Arcy’s Rootbeer and Rite ‘N Lite.
